Insect life in the garden what is out near you first?

We have had 3 butterflies in the garden 2 overwintering peacocks in the greenhouse and one lovely Brimstone. The lovely sulphur yellow brimstones are normally the first ones and this is the first year ever that our peacocks got out first. Have seen a few large bumblebees too, one real whopper, could it be a Queen?

I’ve seen a few big bumblebees today too, and a honeybee hitched a lift on me when I was out cycling a few days ago!

We have seen quite a few bees, bumble and others, and at least 4 types of butterfly this week. I will have to look at some photos.

It took me a few seconds to spot the brimstone, it’s very well camouflaged!

Me too, that same lovely clear lemon as the primrose…

Thank you

Much to my families amusement / despair I am often distracted and led a merry dance around the garden by the butterflies!!

Yep! They even have a name for me when I try and do it too, Mum’s mad butterfly dance, my photos aren’t as fab as yours though!
